Last Few Years In Navy
In my last post about me in the Navy. I joined HMS Sceptre, a Hunter Killer submarine. I was on and off this one in my last 12 years in the RN. I finally left the Royal Navy in Feb 2000. I went to Faslane, handed in my passes, signed a few forms and I walked out the gate for the last time. A weird feeling. The RN had been my life and here I was leaving. It was just a feeling I hadn't experienced or have done since. It took me a couple of months to get used to the fact I was a civvy. I signed on, didn't get any dole money because of my pension. It took 6 months before I got employment. I did take time off and went to New York for 3 weeks.
My first job was reading gas meters. That was different, I can tell you. I was told to knock on doors between the hours of 8am and mid day and then from about 4pm to 8pm. Those were the times you expected folk to be in. The first time I knocked on a door at 8am I got a mouthful of abuse. Needless to say I didn't repeat that scenario. I lasted 6 months.
The next job was in Faslane as a civilian. I was Bar Manager in the Officers Mess. The job I had when in uniform, now a civilian job. I got paid off after 10 months.
After another few months on the dole I went to work for a delivery firm delivering white goods for Currys. I quite enjoyed that one. I was there for 4 years or there abouts. I left and a few months laater I leased a Public House. That lasted 3 and a bit years, went bankrupt in Jan 2010. Unemployed again. Hoping to start very soon as a support worker if I get another car. My current car had smoke belching out the engine so I guess I won't be using that one. I'll get a friend to have a look, not looking good.
I am also into Internet Marketing. I guess you realise with all the banners on my site. Feel free to click on these banners and have a look.
World Cup In South Africa
A bit late with this post. World Cup Final. What a disappointment. I was hoping the Dutch would win but quite frankly I am glad they didn't. It was a disgrace the tactics they used. They should have been down to at least 8 players. Howard Webb had a lot on his hands and although he got one or two decisions wrong he had a good game. He was in a dilema. If he sent of these players he would have probably been blamed for some reason or another. After all it was the World Cup Final.
Anyway, that is it for another four years. Now got the new season to look forward to and the Euro 2012 qualifiers.
Hope your team has a successful season apart from one team who I hope will be below mine.

Well, Well. Another amazing result by the Germans. Who would have thought that the Germans would score four against the Argetinians. Will they go all the way. I think the only team capable of beating them is Holland. They'll want revenge for 1974. I do hope that Holland do win. It'll be another nation to get their name on the trophy for the first time. Only three games to go and then it will be time to start the domestic leagues.
Wimbledon
Not much to say. Andy Murray got beat in straight sets. It's next year again, let's wait and see what happens. Will they be saying "It's 75 years since Britain won the mens singles" Hope fully next year they won't have to repeat that fact. I believe Murray will win Wimbledon. Until next year.
Wimbledon
How many of you out there like tennis. I don't watch it often, but I watched a bit of Psonga and Murray. Andy has a tough in the semis, Nadal. He will be hard to beat but he has beaten him in the past. Federer got beat today as well bt Berdych. He did well to beat the six times Wimbledon champion.
Good luck Andy, make Britain proud, especially to your homeland and give England something to cheer about.
World Cup In South Africa.
Here we are again, World Cup.There has been a few shockers at this years event. England were given a lesson by the Germans, 4 1. I expected England to win that game, and when the game was underway I had a change of heart. The first goal, come on, from a goal kick straight To Klose, 1 touch then bang...Goal!! England were unlucky not to have that goal count, would have been 2 2 at half time. Maybe things would have been different.
What now for England? Do they keep Capello, cut their losses, pay him his 12 million (yes, 12 million quid) or do they go for a homegrown manager, which I think every nation should have, a manager from their own country. The game has gone mad with wages spiralling out of control. Come on, a player rejecting £80 000 per week. If someone needs more than 80 grand a week to live on then it's a sad day.
Anyway, what about the officials that denied England that goal. It was in the press today that one of Uruguays tabloids had apologised to the English FA about that incident. It was also suggested that the officials apologise to the FA as well.
It's now time, not to dwell on the past but get ready for Euro 2012 qualifiers that start in September. Being Scottish we are hoping that we will qualify for Euro 2012. It would be the first time since France 98. That is 6 tournaments we have missed out on so lets go for it.
World Cup In South Africa
Who was watching football today? Who took time off work? Well I watched part of the France V South Africa. Although the South Africans won they went out on goal difference. It was a shame because they out playeed the French who I think have been a disgrace. Grown men throwing their toys out of the pram. Players who get paid fortunes. They have let their country down and especially the fans who paid good money to get to South Africa to watch their country. It was also a disgrace and I am sure an embarrassment when the French coach refused to shake hands with the South African coach at the end of the match. What was that all about, childish if you ask me.
I hope the new French coach drops all of the players who "revolted", it was shambolic.
England on Wednesday, will they do the business. We'll have to wait and see. I honestly think we will see a different England tomorrow after the last few days when I thought another revolt was going to happen.
World Cup In South Africa.
It's now 10 days since the World Cup started. It seems the European teams have been struggling whereas the South American teams have been doing extremely well. New Zealand are coping and can still qualify albeit they'll be luck y to do so. I hope they do.
France are in turmoil, big style. It's sad that an event like the World Cup that what's happening at the Frech HQ was made public. I believe it was leaked to the press. England have struggled in their opening 2 games but I expect them to beat Slovenia and qualify.
Portugal showed today what they are made of. Seven goals against North Korea. Only one goal in the first half. They went into overdrive in the second half, that's for sure. Spain, another team who were beaten in their first match. They won today against a gutsy performance by Honduras. Germany, score 4 goals in the first game, expect them to win the next and they got beat. It doesn't matter how good you are if you don't score you don't win.
Are the Europeans going to make a comeback in the last games in this first section. Holland have already qualified having won their first two games although I beleive they struggled a wee bit as well.
Anyway, that's my bit done for the World Cup. I reckon the last four will be Brazil, Holland,Argetina and Germany, then again what about England, Spain and Portugal. I might just sit on the fence. Even Chile are having a ball. I'll just leave it for the telly pundits.

Sheds & Fencing
Hi, I thought I would mention my friends business. If you require a Shed, Fencing, Decking, Kennel, Dolls House, Rabbit Hutch or anything else, he is the man to go for.
You can find him at: www.premiersheds-fencing.co.uk Of course he is limited on how far he will travel. I think he will travel 50 plus miles to deliver, longer, maybe but there would have to be extra cost involved. He is based in Kirkintilloch, Scotland. Check out his site.
